Founder Story

The Guide High-Achieving Women Trust With Their Most Intimate Life Transitions

Désirée Sprauve is a women’s and maternal health consultant who has been a birthworker since 2018. She previously practiced as a certified holistic full-spectrum doula and RYT certified perinatal yoga and meditation teacher. Désirée has guided more than 2,000 women and mothers through programming, yoga and meditation, pregnancy and doula support, speeches, and sacred ceremonies.

“At my first official birth, traffic delayed the midwife, so I caught the baby myself. My heart has been lit up ever since.”

Of Caribbean descent, Désirée draws on herbal medicine and ethnomedicine rooted in her heritage, weaving ancestral wisdom into evidence-informed care. She has a profound love of humans and believes culture plays a significant role in the care one should receive. Désirée ensures she reveres cultural practices from around the globe into her work, including but not limited to, Africa, the Caribbean, Asia, the Middle East, the Americas, Oceania, and Europe.

Before birthwork, she spent almost a decade leading global operations and strategy across the aerospace and automotive industries, negotiating multi-million dollar supply chain contracts across five industries and seven countries. She was thriving on paper and quietly suffering in her body from severe menstrual cramps. That pain became her calling, first to heal herself, then to help women and mothers do the same.

Today she’s a graduate student in Medical Anthropology and Public Health with a concentration in Health Policy, work that sharpens the same rigor she once brought to the boardroom. Her approach blends evidence based education with culturally rooted, spirit honoring care, giving high-performing women permission to slow down, reclaim their energy, and lead their lives the way they lead everything else: fully, and on their own terms. She is also a proud alumna of Howard University School of Business, graduating with a BBA in Supply Chain Management.

Désirée has spoken and taught for organizations including the NYC Department of Health, Johnson C. Smith University, Charlotte MEDWeek, and The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, translating research, culture, and lived experience into guidance built for women who don’t have time to guess.

Experience & Training

A true expert.

Tens of thousands (10,000’s) of training, hands-on hours, personal experience and education in holistic health and wellness, expanding since 2014.

  • I was a Basketball Cheerleader and Caribbean Dance team member

  • My grandma is the reason I know how to cook so well. She had a zero tolerance policy! Eventually, she would call her friends about my food so I knew it was delicious!

  • I am a conscious eater, meaning I am mostly Whole Foods plant-based but if my body is calling for something else, I will eat as my body desires

Fun Facts

  • I am obsessed with stand-up comedy. OBSESSED. I love to laugh and comedians actually have to be very intelligent to win over a crowd

  • YouTube is my favorite social media platform. We are just starting our own. Follow us here.

  • I’ve worked and led multi-million dollar global strategies in China, Brazil, South Korea, and Japan. One might say, I like culture and travel!
