You're preparing for a baby.
But you're also becoming someone new.
Private, one-on-one guidance for women navigating pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and the transition into motherhood.
Childbirth is an event.
Motherhood is a transition.
Désirée works in the space between the two.
Pregnancy changes far more than your body. It can change your identity, your relationships, your career, your priorities, your relationship with time, your relationship with yourself, and the way you move through the world.
There is no shortage of information about pregnancy and childbirth. What is often missing is someone who can help you understand the whole picture.
Désirée works privately with women throughout pregnancy and postpartum, helping them navigate the physical, emotional, practical, cultural, relational, and healthcare dimensions of becoming a mother.
The goal isn't simply to prepare you for childbirth. It is to prepare you for the transition.
Physical
Emotional
Practical
Cultural
Relational
Healthcare
Six dimensions of one transition.
One woman.
One experience.
There is no standard curriculum because there is no standard woman. Désirée's work is individualized around your health, your pregnancy, your values, your culture, your support system, your questions, your circumstances, and the life you are preparing to return to after birth.
This is not about telling you what to do. It is about giving you the knowledge, perspective, tools, and space to make deeply informed decisions for yourself.
Four phases. One continuous relationship.
We begin with where you are — your body, your health, your expectations, your questions, your support system, your fears, your values.
Establishing the foundation
Healthcare decisions, communication, physical and emotional preparation, support systems, cultural practices, work and home considerations.
Not a perfect plan — a thoughtful one
Your preferences, your advocacy, your support network, your postpartum environment, your recovery, your boundaries — and the possibility that birth may not unfold exactly as planned.
Not control — capacity
The baby has arrived. But so have you, in a new form. Recovery, nourishment, emotional wellbeing, relationships, identity, support, and boundaries.
Not an afterthought — part of the transition
You know how to prepare. You know how to research. You know how to make decisions. You know how to lead.
And then pregnancy introduces an experience that cannot be completely optimized.
Désirée works with women who are accustomed to being the person everyone relies on. Her role is to become someone you can rely on.
From strategist to practitioner to researcher.
Désirée Sprauve is a maternal health consultant, educator, researcher, and speaker with more than eight years of experience in maternal care. She has guided more than 2,000 women and mothers through education, pregnancy support, yoga and meditation, programming, speaking, and sacred ceremony.
Previously, Désirée practiced as a certified holistic full-spectrum doula and RYT-certified perinatal yoga and meditation teacher. Today, she is a graduate student in Medical Anthropology and Public Health, with a concentration in Health Policy — bringing research, cultural analysis, and public health into her approach to maternal care.
Before maternal health became her life's work, Désirée spent nearly a decade leading global operations and strategy across the aerospace and automotive industries, negotiating multimillion-dollar supply chain contracts across five industries and seven countries.
She brings that same strategic thinking to maternal health. But with a different question:
"What does this woman actually need to thrive?"
Evidence and tradition do not have to be enemies.
Of Caribbean descent, Désirée draws from herbal medicine and ethnomedicine rooted in her heritage while honoring evidence-informed care. She believes culture plays a profound role in how people understand health, healing, family, birth, recovery, and motherhood.
From the boardroom to the birth room to the research room.
She's spoken. She's taught. She's done the work.
Désirée has educated more than 2,000 people, translating research, culture, and lived experience into guidance women can actually use.
You don't have to figure out the whole transition alone.
