Weeks 1–4
What's actually happening
Your uterus is preparing a thick lining. Implantation occurs around day 6–12. Most women don't know they're pregnant yet.
Weeks 5–8
Why you feel awful
hCG surges rapidly — this is what drives nausea. Your blood volume begins increasing. Fatigue is physiological, not weakness.
Weeks 9–13
The shift
Placenta takes over hormone production. Nausea often improves. Your heart is pumping 40–50% more blood than before pregnancy.
What to watch
Red flags vs. normal
Spotting can be implantation or cervical sensitivity — not always miscarriage. This module teaches you when to call your provider vs. wait.
Week 6
Heart activity begins
Cardiac cells begin firing around week 6. This is electrical activity — the chambered heart forms over the following weeks.
Week 10
From embryo to fetus
All major organs are forming. Baby is now a fetus — roughly the size of a strawberry. Fingers and toes are visible.
Week 13
End of first trimester
Miscarriage risk drops significantly. Baby can make facial expressions, hiccup, and move — you just can't feel it yet.
Priority nutrients
What you actually need
Folate (not just folic acid) — neural tube development through week 12
Iron — your blood volume is expanding. Plant iron needs Vitamin C to absorb.
Omega-3 DHA — brain and eye development. Low-mercury fish or algae-based.
Nausea strategy
Eating when nothing sounds good
Eat within 30 min of waking before hCG peaks for the day
Cold foods often tolerate better than hot — smell is the trigger
Protein before bed stabilizes blood sugar overnight
Strategy
When to tell your employer
You are not legally required to disclose before 12 weeks. This module covers timing strategy, your rights under PWFA, and how to protect your position.
Energy management
Working through first trimester fatigue
First trimester is peak exhaustion. Learn to identify your energy windows and protect them — without disclosing your pregnancy.
Advocacy
Asking for accommodations
The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act covers you now. Scripts and frameworks for navigating HR conversations confidently.

Weeks 14–18
Energy returns
Placenta is fully in charge. Most women feel dramatically better. Your uterus is now the size of a cantaloupe and rising above the pubic bone.
Round ligament pain
The sharp, shocking pains
Round ligament pain is common and harmless — but terrifying if you don't know it's coming. Learn what it feels like vs. what actually warrants concern.
Weeks 20–24
Anatomy scan
The anatomy scan at 20 weeks is one of the most significant appointments. This module teaches you what they're looking for, what results mean, and your options.
